Welcome to the Vergers Guild of the Episcopal Church!
The Vergers Guild of the Episcopal Church (VGEC) is a service organization that supports the ministry of the verger. A verger is a member of the laity who works under the direction of their Rector, Vicar, or Priest-in-Charge to assist with the organization and operation of religious services in the Episcopal Church in the US, the Anglican Church of Canada, the Church of England, and world-wide throughout the Anglican Communion.
Through our education programs, online resources, and opportunities for fellowship, the VGEC supports over one thousand active members around the world. If you are interested in getting started with a new verger ministry in your parish, see Starting a new Verger Ministry
Becoming a member of the Vergers Guild is easy. It only costs $40 per year and provides a large number of benefits of being a member of the Vergers Guild.
If you are interested in trying out the Vergers Guild, we have a special site try.vergers.org where you can sign up for a six-month membership for free! You will get access to everything that we have, and you will be signed up for all VGEC online and postal communication as you explore the ministry and our organization. We hope that you will try us out because we know you will like what you experience as a member of the VGEC!
The VGEC uses an online membership management system located at membership.vergers.org. This enables the efficient maintenance of membership data and has improved communication as it allows for easy and secure online processing of new memberships and renewals.
To renew your membership, simply login at membership.vergers.org. Don't worry if you do not know your password as there are simple instructions to follow that will help you login for the first time.
If you are not a member, please join the VGEC using this system and it only takes a few minutes to join.
We encourage everyone to maintain their membership online using credit cards. This saves the organization a lot of money, time, and resources! If you need any help with your membership, please contact Cheryl Cantrall, chair of the VGEC Membership Committee, at [email protected].
We are excited to announce that the secure VGEC Membership Directory is available to members only!
Login at membership.vergers.org to access the secure PDF version of the directory. A new and updated version of the directory is produced automatically each morning at 1:30am making sure that the directory is always up to date.
We hope that you enjoy vergers.org and that you are able to find many effective resources to help you with your ministry of the a verger. One of our goals is to continue to add additional resources to the web site to make it truly the #1 resource for vergers online.
